Win before the storm!
Triangular tournament between Wotton Wolves, Werewolves & Swindon

The Wotton under 10’s were out in force for their home tournament, we were able to run two teams complete with goal keepers.
First up was the Wolves Vs Swindon:
Both teams were full of energy for the first match of the afternoon and the Wolves had much of the early pressure. Pat and Scott up front managed to create chances but were held back by a strong defence and the midfield of Edwin, Issac B and Jamie Berry (in his first ever match) managed to control any loose balls and put it back into the danger zone. Swindon did manage to break a few times but Logan and Bill managed to tidy things up well to leave the game a draw 0-0.
Swindon vs Werewolves:
The Werewolves containing many of the more experienced players, had been watching closely on the side lines and were now ready for their turn. The bell rang and they were up and running. The Werewolves treated the crowed to probably the best team display they’ve produced this season, with lots of passing hockey this was far from the early season chase the ball and hack anything in sight stuff. With players passing, turning strong and looking for the next pass they even on occasion came back out of trouble (only a matter of time before they first play it around the back to switch sides) 4-1 Werewolves.
Wolves Vs Werewolves:
Both teams were up for this, it’s funny how they seem to relish the chance to go head to head with their own team mates!
The Werewolves started with the ball and went straight for the Wolves D full of confidence until Pat stepped in and took the ball straight off them, game on! What followed next was a series of fascinating battles between the opposite numbers. The Werewolves were starting to gain the upper hand until we released the mighty midget partnership of 5&6 year old Spike and little Pully onto them. These two stepped up the tackling a few levels and made it a bit uncomfortable to be on the ball! But experience showed through and the Werewolves came out on top 2-0
Wolves VS Swindon Part 2:
The weather had now set in and to be honest it was getting seriously unpleasant both teams played on and as before it was a close game with both teams having a couple of chances along with a few comedy falls as the pitch started to get slippery, we ended the game a bit early at a fair 0-0
Werewolves Vs Swindon Part 2:
We gave Swindon the choice of whether or not to play the last match due to the driving sleety rain but to their credit they wanted to play. Once again the Werewolves looked strong although a bit of extra ball pace would have reduced the number of interceptions. But that said the boys produced a hat full of chances with the keeper making a number of good saves. He couldn’t keep them all out though and the game ended 3-1 to the Werewolves.
