The week started with a Lombardi quote so it might as well end in one and this one pretty much sums up the U10 boys today.

The boys took part in the county cup today with the goal of a top two finish sadly it wasn't to be but to be honest it was a pretty high ambition for a team with 8 U9's in it who hadn't beaten the favourites yet this year. But they came really close and had the last match gone our way we might just have made it.

The highlights included equalising against glos with 10s to go (good for jake and his auntie&uncle banter).
Pushing the winners Cheltenham U10's very close and them not having to ask who we were during the three cheers (season target achieved).
And once again beating our fav team 3-0 who unbelievably insisted that our defender take his baseball cap off as it's against the rules of hockey unless you wear it backwards!!!!!!! Then after the game said that was 1-0 right ????
Our own very fair umpire Pullin for disallowing his own son's goal because he had blown the whistle half a second before (probably won't hear the end of that).

Really good group of boys who played lots of excellent hockey (very proud coach).

Wally of the day Julia&Steve for not realising that wearing a cap during ball sports like "Tennis" for example is highly dangerous.
