U12 Boys Cheltenham Festival

On a difficult week for selection Wotton still managed to field two teams, in part due to Scott and Reuben from the U10’s stepping up to play against boys two years older than them, not that this was any problem for these two and Scott managed to open the scoring for Wotton A.
With the lower than normal availability, today was always going to be an opportunity to develop the squad as a whole which worked really well with some players moving out of their normal teams and looking to forge new partnerships with some newer players and for the ones missing players from the team, it was a great opportunity to step up and have a real impact on the game.
Team A was the less experienced of the two teams, with our mighty U10’s and some of the less experienced youngsters but they really grew into their positions and if only we could of moved the goal three foot to the left the results would have been quite different!
0-1, 0-0, 0-1, 4-0, 1-3
Team B contained more of the settled partnerships all be it with a couple of key players missing but lots of the players took the opportunity to shine and really exert their influence upon the game and develop in areas they often don’t have the opportunity to.
