After an encouraging festival at Cirencester last week the boys were again keen to play at the first U12 boys Cheltenham festival yesterday.
Our first game against a well drilled Gloucester City side was fast and furious with Gloucester getting 4 goals passed us in our 4 - 0 defeat.
Despite this, the boys enthusiastically took the pitch to play Stroud next. This time it was our turn to play fast and furious and the fantastic team work by Sam Butcher, Tom Cox and Alex Gunton moved the ball quickly up field and enabled Philip Gunton to get 3 goals passed their goalkeeper. The solid defence by Alistair Dickson, Dylan Mead and Liam Baker as well as the outstanding goalkeeping by Rufus Wells French prevented Stroud from getting any goals against us.
Dursley were next and the same commitment and team work ment that we again had a 3 - 0 victory.
Our final game was against Cheltenham. Despite 2 early goals by Liam Baker and Alex Gunton and being 2 - 1 up early in the match we couldn't maintain our tempo and some how Cheltenham eventually won 4 - 0.
We had an enjoyable afternoon enhanced to by 2 victories.
