Wotton wolf Cubs (U8's) vs Dursley U8's ?
In the words of the chairman it was "bloody freezing" but that didn't stop the coaches having to force some of the kids to keep their jumpers on before the match!!
Wotton went on the attack right from the off with the 5&6 year old Edwards & Pullin strike force causing Dursley all sorts of problems despite being literally half the size of some of the opposition. The only thing holding them back was 6 year old Gavin Patterson who was helping Dursley for the first quarter, this theme continued with all four of the players who helped out Dursley relishing the opportunity to tackle their team mates without me shouting at them!!!
With all the pressure the first goal had to come and Reuben scored a nice goal from the left this was followed up by a rare Emms incursion into an opposition D. If anything Wotton had too much pressure and on a few occasions Dursley looked ready to counter attack but with Scott the midfield dynamo and the defensive partnership of Edwin and Hannah they didn't manage to break through the Wotton Lines,Matthew eventually got his reward with a well battled goal and at 3-0 the game looked over but the genie was out of the bottle now and Young Emms crashed his way through for a second goal!!
The game finished at 4-0 with lots of good performances from all the players.
