Wolf Cub's set the standard.

Wotton U8’s at the GHA Festival
The Wolf Cubs were on the road this week at Dean Close School for the GHA Festival.
With the team on a high after their last match and some in car tactics on the trip up the coaches decided to change formation this week to a more attacking 1-3-2 . The question was would this setup lead to a goal fest or a very leaky defence?
Well first up was Worcester Reds and the early indications were good as little Mathew Pullin opened up the scoring closely followed by even smaller 5 year old Isaac Edwards to leave the final score at 2-0.
The next game was against a tough Lansdown team, but that didn’t stop the wolf cubs who scored first and then spent the next 8 mins trying to score through a very crowded D. Unfortunately with Wotton committing numbers to the attack Lansdown were able to get quick breakaway goal despite Joshua Johnson’s best efforts in defence. 1-1
Pleased with their performance from the last game the kids then faced Cirencester who had extra subs so wanted to play with 7. Wotton were unsure to start with as our two subs were only 5&6 but we decided they could handle it. And handle it they did with some tough tackling from Gavin Patterson and Emily Austin Wotton were able to get ahead with a goal from Reuben Edwards followed by another couple of goals leaving Cirencester 3-0 down.
The last two games seemed to blur into one but the cubs were starting to play some seriously good youth hockey. Scott Patteson was playing some lovely balls to his strong midfield partners Edwin & Reuben. With little Pully unstoppable in front of goal coupled with more goals from Isaac, Reuben and a very well deserved goal for Scott that left both games 5-0 to Wotton (I think!).
With only one goal conceded all afternoon it looks like attack is the best form of defense.
MOM Scott Patterson (For a very unselfish team performance) .
