Message from Jane Pascoe re our contributions to Wotton's street Xmas event

Calling all Santa’s Little Helpers

The hockey club will be taking part in Wotton’s “Christmas Under the Edge” street event this year on the 2nd December - 4:00pm - 7:00pm.

Our Stall will be doing:
• ‘Hockey Sock Stocking’ Lucky Dip – The aim of the game will be to pick a Snowball (hockey ball!) from the Christmas box and if it matches the winning Hockey Stocking you get a star prize.
• Face Paining – festive face painting fun
• Christmas Tree Decoration Competition – We will be selling hand-made decorations for people to decorate. They send us a picture of their finished decoration and a winner is chosen by the committee. This will be a great way to get the community involved and to create a bit of social media buzz.

All I need now is some lovely volunteers. So if you fancy getting into the festive spirit and are able to help that would be amazing;
• Prizes: I am getting a small group together to help make some of the items. I will be doing Reindeer lollipops and chocolate bags for the lucky dip and the clay xmas tree decorations. If anyone wants to join the group let me know, I will be arranging a date soon. You don’t have to be creative, just be able to put things in bags, cut stuff out and stick things down!

On the day:
• Set-up 3.00pm – 4.00pm: 1-2 people
• Take down – 7.00pm onwards: as above
• Face Painting: I will need 6 people in total, two per hour. Or if people are happy to do more than an hour then we can manage with less.
• Extra helpers: I will be on the stall for the whole event but it may be useful to have more people in addition to the face painters. Let me know if you want to help cover the stall for an hour.
• Gazebo: If anyone has a standard size gazebo (3ft x 3ft) that we could borrow on the day that would be perfect.

I may need some extra bits but will let people know closer to the time. Please message me on Pitchero or on 07971 103182 if you are able to help, anything you can do is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to Sonya and Nicki for the loan of the face paints and letting us know about the event. Also Annie from Designer Chocolates in Berkeley who has been extremely generous and donated the star prizes for the lucky dip and the Christmas tree decoration prize which is fantastic.

This will be a great opportunity for us to be part of a fantastic community street event and also raise some money for the club.

Thanks everyone
Jane Pascoe (Jane Bull)
