A memorable weekend in Nottingham for the boys

WUE HC Boys u16s gave a good account of themselves at the Tier 1 National Finals in Nottingham at the weekend, with three draws and one defeat - against eventual Champions Surbiton.

The Pool results meant the boys slipped into the 7/8th Play Offs on goal difference, which they were somewhat disappointed about, but the coaches were quick to reiterate important context…i.e. that this meant they were ranked as the 7th best team in the Country in their age group! No mean feat against some very big clubs...

Full Results as follows:

v. Trojans HC 2-2
Goals: Edwards, PC x 2

v. Surbiton HC 1-4
Goals: Bray, FG

v. Repton HC 2-2
Goals: Edwards PC x 2

v Taunton Vale HC 2-2
Goals: Brewer, FG. Day, FG

Congratulations to these boys for a memorable season in which they have been crowned National Indoor Champions and taken part in an outdoor National Finals as well.
The great thing is that all but two of the boys in the squad are u15s so will have another crack at all this next year.
