Combined with Sport England’s review of ClubMark, England Hockey devised a hockey specific accreditation system.

We are delighted to announce that Wotton-under-Edge Hockey Club has achieved ClubMark, one of a select number of clubs in England to have been awarded the accreditation

England Hockey ClubMark is designed to set an operating standard for clubs to achieve and ensure that the appropriate risk assessments, policies and procedures are in place.
Achieving ClubMark is important in being able to demonstrate the club operates to set of core criteria so we can deliver quality hockey in a sustainable and positive environment.
Following the consultation with clubs on “What Makes a Great Club?” combined with Sport England’s review of all things ClubMark, England Hockey devised a hockey specific accreditation system.

The club had to demonstrate across 16 areas that we have effective systems in place for running the club. These includes things such as:
* Having a strategic- based development plan in place
* Managing our finances effectively
* Maintaining a safe environment with proper welfare protections
* Effective planning of our hockey and the development of our players
* Engaging with our local community and encouraging participation in hockey

The Executive Committee set the Clubmark accreditation as one of their key actions in the development plan. Since then, significant work has gone into making it happen.
“We would like to thank all those in the club who have been involved, both through the assessment process and by playing their part in all of the behind the scenes work that goes into running our club so effectively. The Clubmark accreditation is an endorsement of the strong foundations on which our fantastic club is built on.” Nat & Winston (Co-Chairs)
