The last full weekend of the season!

So here we are then folks, the last of our Friday previews for a while as we reach the final full weekend of the regular season, and therefore the last round of games in the GoCrea8 League and the West Women’s Hockey League. As ever, lots to play for but here are a few highlights to note:

  • M1 are promoted into the Go Crea8 League Premiership already; but should Hammo’s boys beat Newent on Sat AND Westbury lose or draw Wotton will be Champions.
  • L1 are one of four teams still in the hunt for ONE promotion spot in WWHL Berkeley Div 1, with only the champions going up. All the permeations are enough to make Einstein’s head hurt, but suffice to say – win on Saturday and you never know – crazy things happen on the last day of the season sometimes!
  • M2’s late rally in recent weeks means they’ve gone a long way to avoid the drop in De Cymru & The Marches Div 2 but with National League relegations possibly having a drip down effect on 17/18 placements – an away win on Saturday removes ANY possibility of relegation. Another massive game.

Saturday – at Wotton Community PARC
1000 L1 v Old Bristolians
1130 L3 v Badminton
1330 M1 v Newent
1500 M4 v Cheltenham V
Sadly, Ross couldn’t raise a side so there is no Badgers game this weekend

Saturday – on the road
L2 v Bristol & West
M2 v Pembroke County
M3 Cheltenham IV
M5 v Newent III

Sunday – at Wotton Community PARC
We are delighted to welcome a touring squad from City of London Freemen’s School; they’ll be playing in a round robin tournament against 3 teams made up of our Girls u10/12s from 10am

Sunday – on the road
Girls u16s A v East Glos
Girls u16s B v East Glos
Mixed u8 Wolfcubs in Glos HA Tournament.

As an extension of our club-school links, next Thursday (30/3) a Wotton u11 Boys team will be competing in a round robin tournament against KLB teams from Y7.
On April 1st an u14 Boys team play a friendly against Glos City (1100) and a Girls u16s inter-club match will follow at 1300.

Tickets are still (just) available for the Annual Dinner-Dance but as mentioned we will be closing the books on Saturday evening - if you still want to come, be quick!
Check your emails for details of junior and youth end of season events where relevant.

So, for the final time this season…good luck everybody!

And breathe…!
