Things hotting up now as we move into the last few weeks of the regular season; with lots to play for. So this week, some wider commentary to provide context for the next 3 rounds of matches…

In Berkeley Div 1 of the West Women’s Hockey League, there are FOUR teams (including us in 3rd!) vying for one promotion spot; after last week’s epic win away to Yate its another crunch game for L1 as they take on top of the table Redland at 10am. Ladies 2s are looking for a top 4 finish in Div 2 with ladies 3s looking for a top half finish in Div 3, which given they are a newly promoted and completely new team , respectively, would be a great return for the ladies section.

In the GoCrea8 League, the Men’s 1s sit top of the Championship, but with Westbury and Cardiff & Met snapping at their heels. The boys need to keep the momentum going with a place in the Premiership at stake, which would be a third consecutive promotion – an amazing achievement. M2 are in a classic relegation fight with up to 4 being relegated from their division, they need to match or better the results of their nearest rivals Ciren to stay alive - good luck to them.
Meanwhile both M3 & M4 will be looking for highly respectable top 3-4 finishes in their divisions (M3 having been promoted last year), and the M5 battle on with their first league points in sight.

Its also Glos HA County Finals for the u10 Boys & Girls in Cheltenham on Sunday with the top 2 teams going through to the regional finals later in the year – as ever, a cracking weekend of hockey in prospect.
