SUNDAY 13 MARCH – TREE PLANTING AT WCSF. 10AM ONWARDS
Message from our colleagues at Wotton Community Sport Foundation, please help if you can – the hockey club has been very well represented in the past:
The last tree planting of the 2015/16 season will take place as above, WCSF have 420 small (Woodland Trust) trees to plant along with the usual canes and rabbit guards.
This planting will be close to the new skate park area so the best access will be via the New Road entrance with parking on the right.
As always, spades, boots and gloves will be needed but chocolate biscuits will be provided ! Small spades will be useful as the tree roots are only small.
Thanks to your hard work, over 4,300 native trees have now been planted on the WCSF New Road site. The trees are beginning to get established and although we may have to be patient with the small free trees from the Woodland Trust, some of the trees planted 3 years ago are now over 6ft.

SATURDAY 19 MARCH – RACE NIGHT (FUNDRAISER/SOCIAL). KINGSWOOD VILLAGE HALL. 1930-2300
All ‘horses’ for this event have now been sold, but to make it a success we still need lots of members, parents, friends etc to come along on the night. £2 non-owner tickets are available if you haven’t bought a ‘horse’. And finally…
FOOTWEAR ON SPORT WOTTON PITCHES
I am very confident that we as a club are not transgressors in this area but across both pitches, it is noted that some users are still wearing incorrect footwear. These rules are in place to prevent damage to the pitches and to ensure the longevity of the playing surfaces. Sport Wotton have asked us to reiterate to our members, who might also occasionally use/hire the 3G. So as a reminder:
• Astro/Hockey pitch: No moulded studs/blades of ANY kind; astro specific soles or ‘normal’ trainers only
• 3G (smaller floodlit pitch): No metal studs allowed; moulded studs or blades only
All users have been sent this reminder; but if you do see moulds/blades being used on the astro by players from other sports clubs, do please report to a member of staff so we can stamp this out!
If parents are in any doubt about the type of soles permitted on the hockey pitch, please ask.

All the best as we move into the last few weeks of the season and I hope to see you at some of the events above.
