England Hockey Men’s Trophy - Round 2
Wotton under Edge Mens 1st XI v Plympton Grammar School Old Boys (PGSOB)
Sunday 15th November, 2pm at Wotton Sports Centre

Firstly, thank you to all members (from all parts of the club) who supported our Junior Tournament last Sunday; whether that be coaching, umpiring, being a parent manager, baking or just buying teas and cake from the pop up club house! The event was a great success both on and off the pitch – feedback from travelling teams has been terrific. A real credit to our club! Look out for more junior tournaments in the coming months and see how you can help out.

THIS SUNDAY – in addition to the usual Saturday league action – attention turns to the Men’s 1st XI and their Round 2 match v PGSOB in the Men’s Trophy. Push back is 2pm at our home pitch (Wotton Sports Centre/KLB).

The Trophy is a high profile National Knock out competition, open to those teams playing in the higher echelons of regional hockey in England. The final in May will played at the Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis centre at the Olympic Park.

Having received a bye in round 1, Alistair Hammond and his boys cant wait to get their Trophy campaign underway against our visitors from Devon. PGSOB play in Conference South in the GoCre8 Hockey League (our M1 play in Conference North) so it promises to be a cracking match!

I would urge all members, parents et al to come along and Sunday afternoon and cheer our boys on in what we hope will be a memorable occasion for the club.

See you there!

PS – it is a stipulation in the rules of this competition that spectators be separated from the field of play; therefore please follow previously issued guidance by ensuring that ONLY players, coaches and officials enter the playing area – everyone else should remain behind the spectator fence for the duration of play. Thank you.
