About Us

(Updated February 2024)

We are a friendly, ambitious & inclusive hockey club based in Gloucestershire, UK, with strong and successful senior (mens and ladies) and Junior/Youth sections. We pride ourselves at being at the heart of our local community.

The club is run entirely by volunteers, we feel that everyone can play a valuable part in the running of the club.

The Executive Committee is made up of the Club Chair/s, Director of Hockey, Secretary, Treasurer and Club Development Officer. They meet every other month and look after the ‘business’ operations of the club dealing with everything from setting annual memberships and match fees to kit suppliers.

The Executive Committee works with the Operations Committee which includes both the Mens and Ladies Club Captains, Coaching Lead and the Umpire Co-Ordinator in addition to the Chair/s, Director of Hockey and Secretary. This also meets bi-monthly, alternating with the Executive Committee. The Operations Committee looks after the ‘playing’ operations of the club dealing including pitch bookings, league matters and selections.

In addition to the formal committees, each of the junior, youth and senior sections has coaches and parent helpers who manage and plan the training sessions and match days for their teams and of course our umpiring team without whom we wouldn’t be able to play or host home matches.

The club holds an Annual General Meeting each Spring.

There are usually a variety of social & fundraising events run throughout the year, and the club holds an end-of-season dinner dance and awards presentation every March/April for seniors as well as end of season events for junior/youth sections.
